Supports .heic and .heif — the format iPhones shoot in
Tip: Drop a whole batch of iPhone photos at once — they are converted one by one and you can grab everything as a single ZIP.
Pixel-perfect copies of your iPhone photos
PNG is the right choice when quality can't be negotiated: images headed into an editor, screenshots with fine text, or graphics that will be re-saved many times. ImagePilot decodes your HEIC files and re-encodes them as lossless PNG entirely in your browser — no uploads, no account, no watermark.
Privacy is built in twice over. First, the WebAssembly decoder means your photos never touch a server. Second, because the PNG is rebuilt from raw pixels, all hidden metadata from the original file — GPS location, capture time, and device information — is removed automatically, so the converted image can be shared without giving away where or when it was taken.
Batch conversion is supported too: drop your whole selection, watch each file convert with its own progress, and download the results one by one or as a single ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert HEIC to PNG instead of JPG?
PNG is lossless: every pixel is preserved exactly, with no compression artifacts. Choose PNG when you need the image for editing, screenshots, graphics with text, or anything where quality matters more than file size. For everyday photos, JPG gives much smaller files.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The HEIC decoder runs as WebAssembly inside your browser, so your photos never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere.
Is the GPS location in my photos removed?
Yes. Conversion rebuilds the image from raw pixels, so all embedded metadata — including GPS coordinates, capture date, and device details — is stripped from the PNG. The converted image is safe to share without revealing where it was taken.
Will the PNG file be larger than the HEIC?
Usually yes, and often significantly. HEIC is a highly compressed format while PNG stores photos losslessly, so a 2 MB HEIC photo can easily become a 20 MB PNG. That's the price of pixel-perfect quality — if size matters, use the HEIC to JPG converter instead.
What happens with Live Photos or burst shots?
HEIC containers can hold several images. ImagePilot converts the primary photo — the still frame you see in your camera roll — which is what virtually every use case needs.
Can I convert many HEIC files at once?
Yes. Drop a whole batch and the files are converted one after another, each with its own progress. When they're done you can download them individually or grab everything as a single ZIP file.
