Supports JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF
Telegram is strict about sticker dimensions: one side must be exactly 512 pixels and the other 512 or less, in PNG or WebP — ideally with a transparent background so the sticker floats over chats instead of sitting in a box. Miss the spec and the @Stickers bot rejects the upload with a terse error and no explanation. The resizer above is pre-set to 512×512: drop your artwork, pick PNG as the output, and the file passes validation on the first try. Conversion happens in your browser, so unpublished art stays on your machine.
How to resize an image to Telegram sticker size (512×512)
- 1
Drop your artwork
Drop it into the box above — it's processed on your device, so unreleased sticker art is never uploaded anywhere.
- 2
Keep the 512×512 preset
One side must be exactly 512 px for Telegram to accept it; the preset guarantees that. For non-square art, set just one side to 512 and the other smaller.
- 3
Choose PNG output
PNG keeps transparency, which stickers need to float over the chat. Never pick JPG for stickers — it fills transparent areas with a solid box.
- 4
Send it to @Stickers
Download, open the @Stickers bot in Telegram, and upload the file to your pack.
Pro tip: Flat-color, cartoon-style art compresses dramatically as PNG — most stickers land far under Telegram's size limits without any extra work. If your source is a photo rather than artwork, choose WebP output instead: same 512×512 spec, much smaller file at higher quality.
Troubleshooting: If the @Stickers bot rejects your file, the usual culprit is dimensions where neither side is exactly 512 px — 500×500 fails, 512×384 passes. The preset here outputs exactly 512×512; if you changed the numbers, make sure at least one of them still reads 512. Also confirm the format is PNG or WebP, not JPG.
Sticker source images often need prep first: Crop Photo to Square frames the subject before resizing, Convert PNG to WebP shrinks finished stickers further, and photos you're sharing in chats (rather than turning into stickers) do better through Compress Image for Telegram.
Frequently asked questions
What size does a Telegram sticker need to be?
One side must be exactly 512 pixels and the other side 512 or less, in PNG or WebP format. A 512×512 square is the safe default — the @Stickers bot rejects images where neither dimension is exactly 512.
Do Telegram stickers need a transparent background?
Static stickers don't strictly require transparency, but without it your sticker appears inside a solid rectangle instead of floating over the chat. Export as PNG or WebP with a transparent background for the classic sticker look.
Why is the @Stickers bot rejecting my image?
Almost always dimensions or format: neither side is exactly 512 pixels, or the file is a JPG. Resize so one side is exactly 512 (the other 512 or less) and export as PNG or WebP, then upload again.
Is my artwork uploaded when I resize it here?
No. The resize runs entirely inside your browser — your file never reaches a server and is never stored or logged. Your unpublished sticker art stays private until you choose to send it to Telegram's bot yourself.
