Pro tip: Design for the circle: Discord crops your square into a circle in chats, so the corners are invisible. Keep faces and logos centered with roughly 10% breathing room from every edge, and check the preview at small size — most people will see your PFP at 40 px or less.

Why does my Discord PFP look blurry?

It was probably uploaded smaller than 512×512 and Discord upscaled it, which softens detail. Resize the original photo to exactly 512×512 and re-upload — starting from the largest, sharpest version of the photo you have.

Can I use a GIF as my Discord profile picture?

Animated avatars require Discord Nitro. On a free account, upload a static JPG or PNG — a sharp 512×512 still image. ImagePilot doesn't process GIF animations, so for animated PFPs you'd need a Nitro subscription and a ready-made GIF.
